Cleaning of Supplies:
• After each treatment
o Wash hands thoroughly and dis. onnect mask/mouthpiece and tubing from
machine
o Rinse the mask/mouthpiece and cup with warm water for minimum of 30 seconds
o DO NOT wash nebulizer tubing or compressor
o Shake off all excess water from the mask/mouthpiece and let air-dry on clean towel
▪ Never leave water or medication in chamber or tubing – let everything dry 100% on a clean dry towel
o Reassemble the unit after dry – turn on for a few seconds after reassembled
o No supplies should ever go through the Dishwasher
o Compressor should be wiped down with a dry cloth regularly
▪ Never Disassemble the machine
Replacement of Supplies:
All supplies are non-prior auth and covered 100% through the DOL
• Recommended to replace chamber, tubing, and mask/mouthpiece at least once a month
o If used more than 3x a day supplies should be changed biweekly
• Watch for discoloring on chamber, tubing, and mask/mouthpiece. If seen, change supplies immediately
• Always keep an extra set of supplies on hand to change for emergencies
• Recommended new machine every 1-3 years
o If the machine is over 3 years please replace immediately
• If you have been sick please replace supplies – bacteria and viruses can live within the tubing and mask/mouthpiece
